Notes on Anger

The thought of allowing someone to walk away Scott free makes me sick

I don’t want to wipe my hands clean, i want to transfer the blood onto your hands

I want you to feel the weight of what you’ve done, not me

Staying angry makes us think that we have the capacity to make more change

But anger doesn’t understand that the past is done, the damage has already happened

It tells you vengeance will fix things

Staying angry is like continuously picking at a cut because if you keep it open you won’t get a scar

Anger is nothing more than the refusal to heal. Anger says keep that wound bleeding.

Forgiveness won’t fix anything or undo the pain, or even give you peace, it’s just the medicine you take to stay alive.

Forgiveness means finally realizing your peace is worth more than their destruction. Knowing that the person that broke you won’t come put you back together.
